The 2026 Draft
Is Coming For You

Ten managers. Ten delusions. One draft board that will be blamed for every loss from September through December. May the best armchair win.

โš ๏ธ Draft Day is almost here. This is your official reminder that "I'll prep later" is how you end up drafting three kickers. The defending champion is already doing mock drafts. Are you?
๐Ÿ“‹ HOW DRAFT SLOT SELECTION WORKS

The worst record from the prior season selects their preferred draft slot first. The league champion selects last. Each manager actively chooses their slot โ€” it is not assigned.

New owners select after all returning owners. Selection order runs worst-to-best by 2025 final standing.

๐Ÿ“ฌ The commissioner will be contacting each owner to make their draft slot selection. Stand by.

The 10 Managers

Team 01
Eric's Ice
Manager: Eric
Cold. Calculated. Or at least that's the brand. Whether the draft follows suit is another matter entirely.
Team 02
Dan's Domination
Manager: Dan · Joined 2013
The name is a statement of intent. Whether it translates to actual wins is what separates confidence from delusion.
Team 03
Ben's Blackout
Manager: Ben
Named either after a dominant defensive strategy or a poor life choice. Possibly both. We don't ask questions.
Team 04
Steve's Silver Bullet
Manager: Steve
Looking for that one magic pick that wins the whole thing. Spoiler: there is no silver bullet. There is only preparation, and waiver wire luck.
Team 05
George's Genuine Draft
Manager: George
Aptly named โ€” this George takes the draft seriously. Whether the players cooperate with that seriousness is on them.
Team 06
Connor's Kingsman
Manager: Connor · Joined 2021
Sharp suits, sharper picks โ€” in theory. The Kingsman ethos demands excellence. The fantasy waiver wire demands humility.
Team 07
George's Goons
Manager: George
Yes, there are two Georges. This one runs with a rougher crowd. More chaos. More swagger. Same general lack of postseason appearances.
Team 08
Tim's Troublemakers
Manager: Tim
The kind of team that makes a clever trade mid-season and then immediately self-destructs on the waiver wire. We say this with affection.
Team 09
Eric's Executioners
Manager: Eric · Joined 2022
Also an Eric. The league has two of them, which should be a concern for everyone. The Executioners sound menacing โ€” they should live up to it.
Team 10
Ian's Intimidators
Manager: Ian · Joined 2023
Intimidation is a mindset. The question is whether Ian's opponents are actually scared, or just being polite. Draft day will tell us everything.

Draft Day Intel

  • ๐ŸŽฏ
RB Early, RB Often. Running back value craters after round 4. If you're waiting until round 6 for your first RB, we will write about it. At length.
  • โš ๏ธ
The Handcuff Principle. If you draft a workhorse RB, get their backup. Failing to do this and then complaining when your guy gets hurt is not something this publication will sympathize with.
  • ๐Ÿง
Check the ADP. Reaching 4 rounds on a player because "he just feels right" is a personality trait, not a strategy. The algorithm has opinions. Hear them out.
  • ๐Ÿ“ฑ
Do a Mock Draft. At least one. Preferably twelve. Showing up to draft day cold is how you end up with four wide receivers who share targets with seven other players.
  • ๐Ÿบ
The Two-Beer Rule. Two beers before the draft: loosened up, bold, good. Six beers before the draft: you just drafted a kicker in round 7 because you "liked his vibe." Know the line.
  • ๐Ÿฅ
Injury Reports. Check them. Before the draft, the day of the draft, and ideally during the draft. If you draft someone who's been on the injury report for three weeks, that's on you and only you.

2025 Season Recap

2025 Season Wrap

Steve Claims Ring Six, Ian Arrives, Ben Runs the Regular Season, and the Whole League Resets

Steve's Silver Bullet is your 2025 ALF champion, winning the title 57–38 over Ian's Intimidators. Ring number six for Steve, tying him all-time with George's Genuine Draft, Tim's Troublemakers, and the retired Nick's Nitros. What makes it particularly impressive is the path: a 7–5–2 regular season that did not scream dominance, followed by winning every single playoff game when it counted. That is what separates championship franchises from the rest of the field.

The regular season, however, belonged to Ben's Blackout. Ben finished 9–4–1, the best record in the league, with 673 points for. The 2024 runner-up had every reason to believe 2025 was their year to close it out. Then Ian's Intimidators walked into the semifinal and won by 30. George's Genuine Draft also had a strong run — advancing to the semis before falling to Steve — and then claiming 3rd place over Ben in the consolation game. George won the championship in 2024. Steve won it in 2025. Both founding members are very much still in the conversation.

Ian's Intimidators joined this league in 2023 and reached the championship game in year three. That is not an accident. They beat Ben's Blackout by 30 in the semis and pushed Steve to a 57–38 final. Tim's Troublemakers and George's Goons both missed the playoffs entirely despite strong prior seasons — Tim finishing 8th and the Goons 7th. Eric's Executioners led the whole league in points for at 713 and finished 5th. The talent is real. The postseason has not reflected it yet. Dan's Domination had a difficult year at 4–10, and Connor's Kingsman followed a 2024 playoff appearance with the lowest scoring season in the league at 473 points. Two franchises with more to give in 2026. Eric's Ice went 7–6–1 and earned a playoff spot, losing a tight wild card game 49–45 to Ian's Intimidators โ€” the same team that went on to reach the final. Not a bad season. Just ran into the wrong team at the wrong time.

🏆 Champion

Steve's Silver Bullet: Steady in the Regular Season, Unstoppable in the Playoffs

7–5–2 in the regular season. Won every playoff game. Six rings across 36 seasons. The Silver Bullet does not need to dominate every week. It just needs to be there when it matters.

💪 Best Regular Season

Ben's Blackout Ran the Table at 9–4–1 and Still Came Home Fourth

Best record in the league. 673 points for. Lost the semifinal to Ian's Intimidators 59–29 and then the 3rd place game to George's Genuine Draft. The regular season trophy and the championship trophy are different trophies.

⚡ Breakthrough

Ian's Intimidators: Year Three, Championship Game, No Longer a Punchline

Knocked out Ben's Blackout by 30 in the semis. Lost the final 57–38. Runner-up in only their third season. The league has been formally put on notice.

📊 Watch List

Eric's Executioners Led the League in Scoring at 713 Points. The Championship Has Not Caught Up Yet.

Fourth season. Most points for in the league. Finished 5th. The Executioners are building something and the 2026 draft is their best shot yet at turning scoring into a title run.

2026 Season Preview

What to Watch in 2026: Early Storylines, Open Questions, and One League That Never Stays Predictable

We are not going to sit here and tell you who wins the 2026 ALF championship. Anyone who confidently predicts that before the draft has not been paying attention to 36 seasons of this league. What we can do is tell you what the storylines are heading in, who has something to prove, and where the interesting tensions are likely to play out.

Steve's Silver Bullet enters as defending champion with six rings. That makes him the target. It also means he picks his draft slot last, which is either a disadvantage or completely irrelevant depending on how you view Steve's track record. George's Genuine Draft is right behind him with six rings of his own and a 3rd-place finish in 2025. Two founding members at the top of the all-time list. The race to seven rings starts now and both of them know it.

Ian's Intimidators are the league's newest and most disruptive force. A championship game appearance in year three is not a fluke — it is a signal. The rest of the league is going to draft with Ian in mind this year in a way they simply did not before. Whether Ian can handle being the hunted rather than the hunter is the most interesting question of the 2026 season. Ben's Blackout will have something to say about all of that. Ben had the best regular season record in 2025 and still went home fourth. Two rings and a habit of strong regular seasons. The championship has been close.

Tim's Troublemakers and George's Goons both missed the 2025 playoffs. That is not a pattern for either franchise — it is an interruption. Tim has six rings and a reputation for consistency. The Goons have four rings and the best all-time points differential in the league. Neither of them is done. Both come into this draft needing a bounce-back season, and both have the history to deliver one.

Eric's Executioners led the entire league in scoring in 2025 with 713 points in just their fourth season. That is not a coincidence — that is a franchise figuring out how to build a roster. The title has not come yet, but the ingredients are there. Eric's Ice has been a steady playoff-caliber team and went 7–6–1 in 2025. The experience of 34 seasons in this league counts for something when the bracket gets tight.

Then there is the bottom half of the 2025 standings, all of whom get earlier draft slot selections as a result. Dan's Domination picks first after a 4–10 season — the same manager who went 11–3 and won the whole thing in 2013. Connor's Kingsman picks second after a tough 2025 following a 2024 playoff appearance. Tim's Troublemakers picks third. All three have every incentive to use their early selections well. Whether they do is what makes draft day worth showing up for.

Six teams finished 2025 with winning records or made the playoffs. Four did not. The draft reshuffles everything. By the time week one kicks off, all of that changes — and this league has proven over 36 seasons that the team nobody is talking about in June is often the one hoisting the trophy in December.

๐Ÿ† Champion Profile

Steve's Silver Bullet: 36 Years, Six Rings, Zero Signs of Stopping

A founding member of ALF since 1990. Rings in 1990, 2000, 2003, 2011, 2017, and 2025. The Silver Bullet does not rust. It waits, and then it fires.

๐Ÿ˜ฎ The Ian Story

Ian's Intimidators: From League Punchline to Championship Game in Three Seasons

Joined 2023. Runner-up 2025. The glow-up is real, the timeline is embarrassing for everyone who wrote them off โ€” including this publication. Especially this publication.

๐Ÿ’ช Overdue

Georgeโ€™s Goons: Four Rings, Best All-Time Differential, and a 2026 Bounce-Back on the Horizon

Four rings since 2010, a league-best all-time points differential of +800, and the single-season scoring record for any non-Ben team (776 PF in 2021). Missed the playoffs in 2025 after an 11โ€“3 regular season the year before. The Goons are overdue.

๐Ÿ“‰ Fallen

Dan's Domination Goes 4โ€“10: The Name, the Record, and the Uncomfortable Gap Between Them

Joined in 2013 and won the title that same year. Has not won since. Went 4โ€“10 in 2025. The domination is, at this point, a historical event rather than a present-tense description.

โšก Watch Out

Eric's Executioners Led the League in Points For (713) in Year Three. Nobody Noticed. They Did.

Joined 2022. Most points for in 2025. Missed the championship. The Executioners are building something. The league has been warned.

๐Ÿคด Five Seasons In

Connor's Kingsman: A Playoff Appearance in 2024, Then 473 Points in 2025. The Range Is Concerning.

Joined 2021. Made the playoffs in 2024 (5th place finish). Scored the fewest points in the league in 2025 at 473. The Kingsman can build a competitive roster โ€” the question is whether they can sustain it.

All-Time Scoring Records

Career Averages & All-Time Differential

What The Numbers Tell Us

🧊 Eric's Ice: The Championship That Got Away

In 2018, Eric's Ice scored 865 points — the second-highest single season in recorded ALF history. Zero rings. The year before (2017) they scored 499. The year after (2019) they scored 608. The league’s longest-tenured ringless franchise has the second-best single season ever and nothing to show for it. The ice is not cold. It is cursed.

🌟 Ben's Blackout: 904 in 2020

The all-time single season record belongs to Ben’s Blackout with 904 points in 2020. That is 39 more than the next best season ever. It is also 231 points more than their own worst year. Ben’s Blackout leads all active teams in average PF per season at 662.1 — despite only being in the league since 2019.

📉 Dan's Domination: A Tale of Two Careers

Dan scored 784 points in 2013 — his first season, won the championship, best record in the league. That is the most dominant debut in ALF history. His lowest recent season: 423 points in 2024, the worst single season for any active team in recent memory. Same manager. Same team name. Completely different results. The domination was real once. The data remembers.

💪 George's Goons: The Differential King

George’s Goons leads all active teams in all-time PF−PA differential at +800. Over 13 seasons they have outscored opponents by 800 total points. For context, Eric’s Ice has a −271 differential over the same 13 seasons. Same number of seasons. Completely different outcomes. The Goons know something the rest of the league doesn’t.

⏱ Tim's Troublemakers: Most Consistent Ever

Of all teams with 10+ seasons of data, Tim’s Troublemakers have the lowest standard deviation in points for — meaning they score consistently every single year more than anyone else. Six rings built not on outlier seasons but on relentless, grinding consistency. The 2023 season (462 pts) was an ugly anomaly. Expect reversion to the mean in 2026.

🪦 Steve Won Six Rings Despite a Negative Differential

Steve’s Silver Bullet is the defending champion with six all-time rings — and a career PF−PA differential of −77. He has allowed more points than he has scored over his career and still won more titles than almost everyone. Peak performance when it matters. Either that or the luckiest manager in ALF history. Probably both.

The Drought Monitor

Eric's Ice 34 SEASONS · SINCE 1992

Second-best single-season PF in ALF history (865, 2018), a runner-up finish that year, and multiple playoff appearances across the last decade. A legitimate championship-caliber franchise. The 2026 draft is another chance to put it together.

Connor's Kingsman 5 SEASONS · SINCE 2021

Made the playoffs in 2024 but followed it with the lowest scoring season in the league in 2025 (473 PF). Career differential of −336 is the worst of any active team. The potential is there โ€” 2026 is about proving it wasnโ€™t a one-year thing.

Eric's Executioners 4 SEASONS · SINCE 2022

Led the league in PF in 2025. Most likely to break the drought in 2026. The scoring is clearly there. The championship just hasn't caught up yet.

Ian's Intimidators 3 SEASONS · SINCE 2023

Runner-up in just their third season. A rapid rise by any measure. The ring has not come yet but the trajectory is clearly pointed in the right direction.

👑 The Four-Way Tie

Four managers are now tied at 6 championships: Steve's Silver Bullet, George's Genuine Draft, Tim's Troublemakers, and the retired Nick's Nitros. Steve's 2025 title pulled him level with George and Tim — three active managers in a dead heat, all gunning for 7. Nick is gone but his ghost has a ringside seat.

🤔 The Ringless Four

Eric's Ice has been in the league since 1992, has reached multiple championship games, and remains one of the most experienced franchises in ALF. Connor's Kingsman, Eric's Executioners, and Ian's Intimidators are also winless. The 2026 draft represents another chance to change that narrative. It probably won't. But it could.

⚠️ The Cardinal Rules — Read Them. Learn Them.
Do not change lineups after 4pm Sunday. Even if the site lets you. It is noted. It will be flagged.
Draft yourself. No proxies unless commissioner-approved. Your team, your picks, your consequences.
Manage your IR. Commissioner checks weekly but mistakes happen. You are responsible for your own roster compliance.
No extra guests at the draft. This is in the official rulebook. In writing. Bring food instead — it reduces your fees.
Respond to trades. You have the week. Don’t be the person who ghosts a trade offer.
Commissioner’s decisions are final. Arguing in the group chat is entertaining for everyone else and changes nothing.
📜 The Unwritten Rules โ€” Now Written
Check the injury report. It is updated daily. It is in the app. There is a red icon. There is no excuse.
Do not start players on bye. The bye weeks are listed in the app, on the NFL website, and on approximately every fantasy football resource in existence. This is a choice.
Set your lineup. Forgetting to set your lineup is not a strategy. It is a gift to your opponent. They did not earn it. You handed it to them.
Do not complain about your schedule. Everyone plays the same schedule. The opponent scores what they score. This is fantasy football. The math is not targeting you specifically.
Do not reach in the draft. You know who your guy is. Everyone knows who your guy is. Drafting him four rounds early does not make you clever. It makes you predictable and also wrong.
Do not draft a kicker in the first ten rounds. This should go without saying. It has gone without saying. Someone in this league has still done it. You know who you are.
Accept losses graciously. You can be upset. You can vent. What you cannot do is relitigate every scoring decision in the group chat for three days. Move on. Set your lineup. Try again next week.
Show up to the draft. The draft is the most important day of the season. Remote participation is available. Using the app to auto-draft because you forgot is not the same thing as participating. We will know.
